by DAN LIPTON & DAVID ROSSMER
A tone-deaf actor gets trapped in a musical, where he must find his voice
to battle his evil understudy’s ambitions and win the leading lady.
David Rossmer & Dan Lipton are longtime collaborators who write music, lyrics and scripts together. Their original musical comedy THE BLONDE STREAK is set for production by Beth Williams' Grove Entertainment and Transport Group in the 2015-16 season. The team is also under commission with Araca Group for MATCHBOOK, based on the bestselling memoir. Their dramatic musical NOTES TO MARIANNE has been developed at Amas, the NAMT Festival, New York Stage & Film and the O'Neill Center's NMTC conference, where the team received the Holof Award for their lyrics. They co-created the hit off-Broadway comedy show DON'T QUIT YOUR NIGHT JOB, writing special material for the likes of Darren Criss, Andrea Martin, Sutton Foster, Huey Lewis, David Hyde Pierce and Megan Hilty, to name a few. Their song "They Don't Let You in the Opera" is featured on KELLI O'HARA's album Always. They co-wrote the off-Broadway sketch musical RATED P, which was then developed as a musical TV show by Kelly Ripa's Milojo Productions and bought by ABC Studios.
